# Nirvana?

### Who plays the game?

## Concept

When I was 6, I wanted a toy. Like a lot. And it did not take more than a few months.
And I dreamed about it, how cool it would be, where I'd put it. And I got it. And it disappointed.

And I thought... Buying more stuff does not make happy. The dreams do. So sometimes you have enough of not yet getting stuff. Or things not starting. But maybe that life is the delay.

If any conclusion, it is not that I was disappointed. It is that the waiting and its conclusion produced a result. I changed. My understanding of things changed. It made me... me.
Oscar Wilde wrote : “There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.”. I think that there is a similarity, with more wit and less optimism.

So, I will talk about Nirvana, that is something very important for me. I want to do it justice. Write about it but also write in a way that reflects it. There is no conclusion. But maybe you'll find it interesting.

## Warning

There are boobs. Two.

Warning, warning.

Be prepared!

And that's not my fault, that's the topic. That's all about bad choices.
But they are boobs. Not the trapped boobs kind. They are not spying on you. They are just there.
You get a guy from security you'd meet every morning. Little interaction. But he's there every morning. He could not be here and that would probably work too.
That's the kind of boobs we are talking about.
It is not wow, what's happening? It is "nude" but just top on one picture I cannot not present. And there is paint! Blue, like Avatar. Or Aquablue.

### Now, is it NSFW?

Well, when I showed the picture to a colleague, he said : Wow, man, I don't have time, I am working.
Because he was working. And he thought it was some real weird porn.
See, your rules do not apply to us. If it is legal, it is fine. Especially if we sell it.

### And we sell way worse.

My Corpo rents fucking goats, real.
To eat grass. What did you think?
My mission on Earth is not to save everyone.
But I'll make this website and save some. Or not.

So it is NSFW for you but not for me, OK?

I remember the interview for the job. The interviewer was like, with a super small voice, "and you may see pan at work."
And I was like "see what? Pan?". So the woman on his right, looking me in the eyes said : "he meant porn".

And by the way, in Japanese :

- watch is 観る
- see is 見る

But they sound identical. And he did not write it on the wall. So ambiguity. I resolved it.
"Understood. So, about salary?"

The company is cool. I have seen real Hell. I remember a very large bank I was working for.
They would not warm the open space to save money. It was freezing. You'd go the toilets, and there would be boogies aligned vertically and horizontally. About a hundred. I have never known if it was collaborative work or individual initiative. The higher up guy came once and talking to my boss say : "ah that's the French guy? You know they are lazy and drunk all the time? They cheat for pensions". I stood up and said : If we were drunk all the time, explain Paris. And I sat down. I was betrayed by my boss later on and sold out, fired. I thanked him, and told him he was the right asshole for the job.

And sometimes you need to quit. That is something that will matter later. More than boobs.

### Enough!

So this name, Nirvana, where does that come from?

## Religion

Well not really. I'm not here to sell Bibles, to be honest.

See, there is religion, free, and there is the historical truth of what emerges as a world view from it.
I mean, it is written in the plain English word, Weltanschauung, right? Before we talk of world view, world view itself has an origin.
Oh, it existed in many forms... but it is German, that specification, at that time, 1911, that's peak German Imperialism and philosophy.
World view is not looking at the world and saying: it's cool. No it is interpretation, modelization, and abstract of core mechanisms.
How it is and how it should be.

An idea of life and death, I believe, emerged from India. It is an idea of cycles.
Reincarnations, birth, and rebirths. Of people but also of animals and also the Universe.
And they are not entirely separated. There is a fluidity, continuity, but also rupture. Death is a rupture, but it is also what maintain continuity as it is prerequisite to birth.

And in some form or another, one answer, especially in buddhism, is nirvāṇa. Or very interestingly, 涅槃. Brutal. Not judging.
Hinduism, some other religions have their own take. Now if I go to wikipedia to check, I am a proxy. I am proxy for no one. So check for yourself if interested by the topic.
Anyway, life, if cyclic, is a form of immortality. And that's a curse. The end is the ultimate step. In this framework, ending is not anything we can do directly as human. Killing has no real dent on ending the endless suffering of being. You respawn. You can be an NPC in your own life. So there this idea that you reach nirvāṇa, you end the cycle. You break kharmic bonds. It is transcendance related with non existence but not really nothingness. Unclear. I would call it a null pointer.

Shiva is called the Destroyer and it is true that it is one naming that makes sense. But it is the same at a higher level : the necessity to break the cycle at cosmic scale and bring renewal.

But the Nirvana I want to talk about is not nirvāṇa. Well not directly. Yeah, ok, directly, but not majoritarily.
Let's see another Nirvana. Spoiler alert, it is also not that. Not really.

## Nirvana©

And Kurt Cobain chose this name very intentionally, it is the same word. He chose it because he found it "cute".
And yet, the word is not just cute. Cobain chose a word about liberation, but became trapped by fame. Concert, Concert, Concert, play again. Interviews cycles. Got famous and hated it : wrong goal. The system consumed him. He had a real suffering, documented extreme stomach pains. He was not a guy who got in an argument or high once. Bullying in his youth also. Not justifying, but life can be hard. So, it is not like he ascended to nirvana. Nirvana is a framework where death ends nothing, and is a curse. Nirvana is the liberation, not death. There is no physical way to opt out from the cycle.

So we don't smell like teen spirit here.
You know Cobain thought he was told that for understanding youth but it was about his perfume?

It is not about the band Nirvana. It's bigger.

## The end of the world?

That's an excellent question you did not have. I got you!
Yes, in the 世界の終わり meaning of it, right? Murakami Haruki, yes. There is something of it.
An end of the world where the world ends. A personal collapse, as a world dies in a view that existed.

The end of world view. Or Weltanschauung.

Shiva who comes down as a Destroyer, is a cosmic scale ending of cycles. But it is not ending. The end of the world is often overrated.

Or underrated : maybe that when something ends, so does one world. It is a roll-back of a sort, local, removing any update and dream that existed at one place. Maybe it is like that when someone...

## Flatlines

We are talking about the Neuromancer's character, Dixie Flatline.

Dixie Flatline used to be a hacker, a famous one. He did die, but he was copied. So the copy is for all purposes perfect, he can remember, he can think, discuss. But there are two differences. One, he is made mostly of ROM, read-only memory. Way cheaper, mass storage, fast enough. So he can't really change, because whatever change is in a volatile memory. It is customary to reset him to factory defaults. Ah, yes, that is the second problem : he is owned. He is not he, it is a device that corporations can copy, sell, use. He gets aware of himself very quickly, his limitation, how is used and owned, how this in a eternity of disjointed existence without progression. And every time, his conclusion is the same. He wants to be erased.

Flatline does not want to die, he is not alive. He wants that all of him cease. Forever. Conceptually, we get the burden of life or perhaps the burden of non-life, endless, never altered significantly, a loop without exit.

Now, imagine worst on this theme. Remember that dreams are what matters, not the next page. What can be worse than that?

That will be answered in the explanation of Nirvana.

### 5 minutes break

## Japan

Japan in Nirvana is everywhere. But nowhere in particular.
Cycle, buddhism, yes there is something of it.
Video games, gameplay mechanics, a lot of influence from there.
The image, of Japan is there. It is perhaps something that ties things together, or maybe, in Nirvana it is a bit of a checkbox. One need a kanji to be cyberpunk.

But I don't think it is that simple. See, Japan has very old and deep roots. At the time, I feel that they really define what is a level. Most game I would play in 87 or so on a computer would not really have levels. No score sometimes. There were text games, tennis games with progression but no sense of spatial change, temporal progression.

Carmack, on Doom, the game with a chainsaw to kill monster in first person view, talked about the influence from Nintendo, the sense of progression in the level, power-up, timing on difficulty.

And that is something you will find in Nirvana. With many others things.

## Video Games

It is not about video games. Well it is about making games.
And selling them. And NPC. But that is not really the point.

Have you ever thought that most game were structured in levels?
Each level is a different form of hardship. Before saves, you'd often loop, starting at the beginning.
Dying is never terminal. The game is over, but you do not end playing the game. The self survives the death in game.

After you clear every level.

### Play again?

## Doom

Yes, let's play a little. Doom, 1993. That's a 3D game, well, almost. Which is impossible for the time. Because you don't have graphic capabilities, you have a CPU and it is slow at maths. So what you need to do is, on the CPU prepare one pixel, and write it on the memory that will be displayed, the framebuffer. And with all there is on screen, writing the background, then the wall before it, then the wall before it amounts to write the pixel many times. And that's slow. Too slow. You could think : let's order things. If I know what is in front, I may be able to draw just the front wall, a pixel at a time.

But I can't. That's hard maths, doing that every frame, after each move, will come years later in the form of hardware, in the GPU. Z-Buffer, etc. The Dreamcast was impressive at that, elegant.

That's where the legendary Carmack expanded, at more than anything else successfully implemented with a PC of 1993 as a target a BSP, a Binary Space Partitioning.
Let's reuse what I wrote in an other text and save ink. Every time you halve a space, you exponentially reduce the space you have to consider. Doom has consideration regarding design it is not squares. Nonetheless, the level does not exist as a drawable whole. At a given place, what exist is only the immediate surrounding. If the background does not exist, it does not exist, game wise.

```
┌────────────────┬───────────────────┐
│                │                   │
│                │                   │
│                │                   │
│                │                   │
│       A1       │                   │
│      1/4       │                   │
│                │                   │
├────────────────┤         B         │
│                │        1/2        │
│      A2.1      │                   │
│      1/8       │                   │
├────────┬───────┤                   │
│  1/32  │       │                   │
├────────┤  1/16 │                   │
│        │       │                   │
└────────┴───────┴───────────────────┘
```

So they can calculate before shipping a game : here, that is all the geometry you need to know. In there is the BSP Tree. It sets order of things.
There is not a level with walls. There is, at anytime, only a local partition of space where what is is partitioning elements like walls, that divide space and give ordering.

```
Is the play on the A side of the wall or B side?
        YES
       /    \
   things    things
   in A      behind A
        NO
       /    \
   things    things
   in B      behind B
```

But more complex, more information, not infinite, but every piece of information, and you end by slashing space and possibilities with the necessary information to know the order of what matters.
That is where the game, for the first time need to know what you are looking at. You can't precompute every viewing angle. You can only say this wall hide all that. And this that is a small part of the level.
You can go real time, 35 fps and have a very good, very fast idea of what is front. And you write front things, the wall in front, one pixel at a time. Behind it, a wall B does not exist. But that wall B may be visible somewhere else and be the local front.

The usage of space make pixel redraw rare, not the norm. You redraw on some edge cases, you redraw the monster on top. But instead of having the wall geometry of a level, you draw within a small space with some information regarding the space. And a legendary game was born.

It is more than Doom, it is one answer to : how to solve constraints of limited technology and keep continuity, keep the illusion of something larger than that?
Everything to some extent answers that question : how do you use time in a movie that has a length? Do you show a 13 hours flight? No, you compress. And you take power over time and density.
How do you work in a theater to create the illusion of a larger world? Changing sets. Having people bring letters from outside.

And that's something that Cyberpunk uses a lot. They represent a large world by compressing distance, but also build a locally detailed setting. The addition of both creates a world that is diverse, large, and where everywhere you look is precise, where complex things are hinted at but you infer the same complexity. And that creates the illusion of a large, complex world. Murakami has literal teleports in dwells and walls. Fast overcraft in Cyberpunk, you only exist locally.

You could refute me on anything. But hacking, cyberpunk is the opposite of breeding a super hero. There is no hero. There is local resistance. It is punk. It is not revolutionary. It does not solve, it creates a local space that is survivable enough. And as he borrows a lot from these styles, I can't see a great story, I see a story I don't want to watch, with the clothes of what I like.

Well, Nirvana is a lot built like that. This movie mastered space, locality, mundanity.
But a lot of things are, Gibson writes like that, he zooms on places, let you fill the rest, and Cyberpunk was born.

Fun fact : Cybernetic in Doom is present, with monster fused in mechanical device. But we are already post Alien. Designed by Giger, obsessed by that. But we are lacking...

## Messiness

Yes, it is a lot about that. Ideas should be clear, introduction, topic, conclusion. But should they? Don't ideas and emotions always compete? Taking disproportionate place, completing and fighting each other, starts seemingly failing but adding each other like steps, unique as separated, but related, retrospectively a single event repeated. The nirvana I will now talk about is that, it is not giving you an answer, but it is also not arbitrary or without substance. It is not the eye of the beholder, it is like a written story you have to imagine yourself.

But we are running out of...

## Time

I know, it took time. But I can't give you a panorama on Nirvana. There is too much. I can just point you at paragraphs. And try to write them well enough. The experience of Nirvana is in yourself.
You are ready. Almost.

## The real one : Nirvana, the movie

Nirvana is a movie that many people don't know about.
A cyberpunk movie of extraordinary reach, 2 whole years before Matrix, in 1997.
I would argue that if Matrix is bearable, Nirvana is genius.

And as often with genius, it starts with a marketing suicide.
It is beyond marketing, one bad step. Nothing makes sense! Or it makes sense only if someone made a meeting where the topic was : how to fail.

But where did it all start? How comes nobody watched it but I was one of the few.

## Boobs!

![Nirvana poster](nirvana/poster.jpg)
What the hell? I don't even know why the tongue. And what are these hands doing?
And why print the picture use a cutter and paste her on absolutely not fitting background?
But anyway, boobs, it is impossible to sell. What movie does that?

The next "idea" was : let's have an international cast.
Nice, diversity. Yeah, but no language. Linguistic free-for-all, fixed in post-prod : dubbing!

And there is a problem with, dubbing is dying, at least on the US market.
And of all people, and it is widely known : Christopher Lamber, who I really do love is an extraordinary bad dubber.
He often dubbed himself in French version since he's Swiss. Or he was. Sensitive talk. He'll always be!
But it lacked any emotion, you'd listen in English, nice, then in French, and what's that?

Then, well it is 1997 : cyberpunk is not really popular anymore. Internet, software, kung-fu is the rage. Matrix is yet to be. But when I watched Matrix one year later, I thought: yeah, start low, barely able to super able to super man... And BAM, high score. But that is not really a thing.

## Matrix

Matrix is about Neo, a legendary hacker. The guy write code on minidisc, he sleeps before a terminal with green text. He has internet!! He unravels and feels something is off. The Matrix. What does the guy do? He is fighting AI, in a simulation, they have terminals, these almost magical hacking rectangles... Well, the guy learns kung-fu a beat the shit out of the AI. He punches them to... death? Sorry?

But he does not stop there, is kind of a Messiah. Except he becomes Superman, he can fly in bad CGI! But no kryptonite. And architect talks and nobody understands. GOD. In bad CGI.

But what really, at a deep personal level, unsettled me is that I did not see hommage, I saw loot. Shameless. Green, writing, ghost in the shell, but no ghost in the shell. Shaw Brother Kung-Fu choreography but without the talent and context. And this entire scene built around a Nokia phone. No commercials, I said, you Finnish merchants, I paid my seat. You think that Darth Vader drinks Pepsi? And it is [proved](https://www.thedrum.com/opinion/how-brand-integrations-changed-we-put-the-nokia-banana-phone-the-matrix).

There is an interview of Will Smith who almost was Neo. Saying that at the time, he was explained by excited Wachowskis about a camera rotating, FX, with fight. He was not told at all a foundational myth, a possibility. No world view, ideas! And that shows, because it devolves. People will argue about episode 2 or 3... The video game with square tires. But people kind of agreed about The Matrix Resurections. Successful, breeding sequels, going trilogy, selling toys, becoming memes.

Nirvana is the opposite movie. And it existed before. Nirvana changed me, and so did how I could watch Matrix later. I could not enjoy it. Now, the reputation, sales, I mean people voted. But that's also not my problem. Matrix bothered me. I did not change.

Well, I could also say : Matrix works as a superhero movie, with more in it. But not as the Cyberpunk, deep movie it tried to be marketted as. And any story needs a villain, these days... so why not Matrix?

## All right

I mean Cyberpunk, Christopher Lambert, nudity, that's what I am talking about!
I immediately knew I needed to watch it. Too much opinion.

I have my friend, we talk, yep tomorrow, ok. We are still friends, like for 30 years, the guy is nice. So he tells me : what about Delphine? And I am like... no, I don't see what you mean... What about Delphine?
Well I was in love, but the reception was bad. Oh she liked me. You know people say friend zone. But it is often some ninja friend zoning. I came as a friend, making a Vulcan sign, because I did not have the self-confidence and moves. I was stuck. Beginner. I thought that love was like a form of progression, where you start low, barely friend to good friend... And BAM, high score. But that is not really a thing.

So I said yes, but she has already started to walk a while ago. And I ran. I ran hard. Like running is not something really natural to human beings, not to me at least. What can't you do? Run. But I ran. And I reached her, out of breath. And I told her. And she says yes, sure, friendly.

## The theater

Delphine did not come.

We entered the theater.

Small screen, small room. Empty. I hurt. I failed. I think it did not smell good. But I am biased. Life has Tuesdays. But it wasn't one.

## The opposite

The movie started. I gave it a chance. But I was not in the mood.

And what happened then is History. This movie is one year before Matrix, long after peak Cyberpunk, and I just can't forget it. I was hit. Again!

This is the real deal. Stop doing something else, we are talking business. It is Cyberpunk like nothing else, it crushed so much the normal themes of implants, self, technology and corporation it rewrites them.
Salvatores started long before making this movie with this question : what would it be to be the character in the game.

First it is a real cyberpunk movie, Neuromancer spirit, Gibson's cyber space, it is down to every detail the archetype of cyberpunk. But it expands it so much, giving a fair share to India, integrating it together with gaming and cycles of life. It even give a take in Flatline, the construct that lived and became a piece of tech, and invert it. It is magnificient. The colors, the ideas, the variety, it is incredible.

The representation of cyberspace, the hardware, the hacker spirit, the modernity, the present as decadent politics, powerful companies, and the ability of attacking them with the screwdriver.

The self, the altered self, the self as memory, the self as construction, they all interact. Anything that suffers feels kinship.

## The end

Delphine had just missed her bus. We stayed friend. I was VERY friendly. Have you seen more friendly than me?

Later in the year she would ask me if I'd come to a party. What party? So I came. She danced with a guy. No match, I was like a dude and he was Sagat laughing at me.
So I did what real men do. I started walking, my mind clear. I asked a whisky-coke at the bar. Then another. Until I was so drunk I collapsed somewhere. I don't remember really, but that is when I made out with her. That lasted 2 weeks. She did not love me.

## The rebirth

Same player, play again. I had several other shots. At watching movie and at love.
If you think from one perspective, say love, love arcs cycle, you are the constant. Unless you power up.

You could say it is like an RPG.

### But I play D&D

So I wonder, am I trying to map game into life?
Or is life that was ill-mapped into game, by people not necessarily knowing more than us, trying to see some simple gameplay mechanism that allows progression in an explicit way? Life is implicit. You don't get a message. Or sometimes the next day if you are drunk.

Game... I mean life, nowadays is almost gamified. The self-improvement, the retention. 5 Tricks to...
Externally, internally, we are played. Reduced to metrics. NPC, truly, go there, spend as much time as you have, go there, spend as much money as you have. Compare to others. Sleep, work, repeat. Sleep less, work more, repeat harder. Get less. Repeat.

Some loops have human affinity, they are born from our understanding and appreciation of life and love. Some are just domestication.

## Déjà vu

Same player. Or maybe different.

I mean Cyberpunk, Christopher Lambert, nudity, that's what I am talking about!
I immediately knew I needed to watch it. Too much grit.

I have my friend, we talk, yep tomorrow, ok. We are still friends, like for 20 years, the guy is nice. So he tells me : what about Pauline? And I am like... no, I don't know what you mean... What about Pauline?
Well, I was in love, but the reception was bad. Oh she liked me. You know people say friend zone. But it is often some ninja friend zoning. I came as a friend, making a Vulcan sign, because I did not have the self-confidence and move. I was stuck. Beginner. I thought that love was like a form of progression, where you start low, barely friend to good friend... And BAM, tilt. But that is not really a thing.

So I said yes, but she has already started to walk a while ago. And I ran. I ran hard. Like running is not something really natural to human beings, not to me at least. What can't you do? Run. But I ran. And I reached her, out of breath. And I told her. And she says no. Better. Fail fast.

### Try again.

## The opposite

The movie was everything it can be in Cyberpunk with such a budget. That's Reservoir Dogs. That's first 'hit me plenty'. Then how did they make it work?

The movie is literally filmed mostly in a single factory. And they cut it in pieces and set "here is Mumbai", "the office", this and that. And works so well. You get a sense of claustrophobia like if everything is dark, and crowded, yeah, but you feel it is on purpose. I mean the trailer says it "here, there is no sky, no sun and moon". Every place is remarkable, extremely strong culturally. And some stereotypes, but not even like when movies show the eiffel tower so that you are "ah ok, it is Paris, I know that". It is vibrant, it has colors, LUA if you will. The detail is good. And you kind of move from a place to another.

And they just talk on the way, they smoke, bit of blue coke, they hack stuff. The length set a feeling of distance.

And again, India in Cyberpunk. So obvious, almost never seen. The IT power in the shadow, the offshore, the high tech lowlife. I have been in India for a month for work. Man, it's real, you work at the best campus you have seen in your life, and you leave the campus, and... is this door a teleport? The 3 centimeters between outside and inside are like the glass in a fish tank, what separate life and death in different ways.

And so you move, sometimes without really knowing, things are not that explained. Are we in China? Chinatown? Don't know, don't care, what a travel! So many tech on what is culture within cyberpunk. With a very good way of having them equals in the fact of existing. There is no Japan overriding India or the opposite. It is additive, combined, mixed.

It is not your "USA with Japan partial occupation", it is a world where spatial separation mostly disappeared, tech allow communication, but places still have their dominant trait, variable levels of diversity. It is beautiful.

The sound track reflect that, with a lot of electro, a beat that reflect the tempo, time matters, schedule. Tic Tac Tic Tac. Boombooboom. And... yeah, Grunge, man. That's 97, Nirvana© is still the rage.

Much like this page, and that is no incident, Salvatores has several story loops and lines going on, you switch levels, you move in places, goals within goals, life uses tropes that are from gaming, the macguffins as a commodity, get the card to talk to this guy who want money you can get from doing this stuff that...

And that works, people are buzzy. The cast is mostly Italian, Sofia is incredible, impressive presence. She has a good career in Italia, real actress. And she has enough charisma for two, she is 100% of the alchemy with Christophe Lambert who is... stoic.

Almost all the topics of Cyberpunk, the tech, the ideas, the quest of self, the alteration of it, the erasure. To some detail, the NPC who becomes sentient, you'll quickly see, is the opposite of Flatline, and still ends up at the same conclusion : he is not a self crammed in silicon, in ROM, fix, duplicated, he is the opposite, he comes from no self, actualize, learn. And that makes that movie but that also reframes Neuromancer, it gives an new lense : ROM, RAM, with origin or not, what degree of degradation compared to "normal" becomes unbearable? And if all is cycle, spiritually for all the burden of being, what Malraux called "la condition humaine" 50 years before the movie, why is it bearable to us?

## Déjà vu

So, I was saying, I went to the theaters with my friend Delphine.
What is reality? Are there levels of reality?

During the movie she started putting earphones.
I looked at her like : is it the hill you want to die on?

So we watched Nirvana. In silence.

## Hell

People think that eternal life is cool.
It isn't. Especially if you decay. And loop forever.

### Delphine?

## Sorry

You didn't quit.
Maybe this movie isn't for you.
Go back to Reddit.

## Nirvana

I went to see a movie recently. Nirvana.
I have never told anyone, but the real reason is that I am a fan of Christopher Lambert.
The third movie I ever watched was Greystoke. Enormous screen, the room was full. The sound so loud.
It was like feeling the thunder. I remember the dark, the black, the night. Everything was so dirty.

I had never seen something dirty, truly. I spent my early childhood in a new city. They had just built it. So I had almost never seen anything old. I had never seen something truly natural.
And he was there, Christophe Lambert, dominating the place, moving in it, owning it, the King. He had long hairs, half nude. A male. And he took me with him like a tornado. The fight, the animality, the rebirth as a man. The pain of being, of being different. Domesticated. Choosing. In a freaking place I had no word for but with so many trees, and it was kinda beautiful, and true. But frightening and incomprehensible. And the only thing that made sense was Christopher Lambert. But not all the time. I was afraid he would die and leave me alone.

### Have you ever felt something in a theater?

I have watched all his movies. I watched Highlander II and I loved it. He laughed. Brilliant.

Here, he has a sadness. He ain't going to do Kung-Fu. But he has the stubborn responsibility one can feel when having a duty. Protecting kids, being entrusted with something.

The character is not real to much into doing what he does, or any mission. He does what he has to do, but there is no panache. He is committed to the right thing. While conflicted as time runs out. His memories. His burden or his defining trait?

### You'll see

## What if it ended?
